Swim Report – July 5, 2026 – Calm After the Storms

Fortunately for us, the thunderstorms that plagued the Independence Day events dissipated during the night giving us low lying clouds and overcast skies at 5:20am – but no rain or storms. The lake came in at 67F lake with the air a sliver below at 66F. There was a slight swell, but the water was crystal clear and quite comfortable during the 1/2 mile swim down to Oak Street Beach.

When I got back to L1, the weather had cleared up and the sun finally came out in full force – only to disappear a few hours later. But for those of us who got a super early start, it was a fantastic morning!
