Swim Report – July 23, 2023 – High Summer

We pretty much had the entire lake and lakefront to ourselves earlier this morning. Perhaps most of Chicago is on vacation this time of year (or maybe they just all slept in). But they sure missed out on perfect swimming conditions!

The storms from last night had long since passed, so everything was calm and quiet at 5:30am. The mirror flat lake came in at a very balmy 72F lake temp with the air at 65F. I swam 1/2 mile in a long meandering loop and didn’t even feel like I had expended any energy. If it wasn’t for the fact that I had to get back before 7:00am, I could have stayed out there all day!
