Our first official meetup of 2023 gave us a 35.4F lake temp (in swim) with some slight chops and a rather insidious northbound current that made it more challenging the first half of the swim. Nevertheless, it was great to get back in the lake after all the hustle and bustle of the holidays – i.e. back to the “normal” way of being once again.
The air temperature was a manageable 32F, but we did have a pesky breeze that plagued us before and after the swim. Still, I managed to get in 1/4 mile in my full neoprene setup and was quite comfortable the entire time.
Happy New Year!
