Swim Report – June 28, 2026 – Happy Summer!

Our first official meetup of the summer was about as good as it gets. The lake came in at a fiery 66F with the air temperature almost in lockstep. There were some slight swells that you could see breaking at the beach, but they were easily navigable in swim.

I once again did a 1/2 mile point-to-point to Oak Street Beach and walked back. I could have turned around at the 1/4 point, but there’s something intrinsically satisfying about making a beach landing with the mighty Hancock building looming over you when you step out of the water.

The walk back was quite pleasant as the summer weather had brought out several early morning sun worshippers as well as several late night clubgoers – many of whom were enjoying a dip in the lake as well. So if you slept in this morning, you once again missed out!
