Our very last swim of summer 2024 was about as ideal as could get. The lake came in at 74F with the air close by at 70F at 6:30am. We had mostly overcast skies with a slight sliver of a sunrise, but the lake was mirror flat and perfect for swimming. I did a point-to-point 1/2 mile to Oak Street Beach before doing my “victory walk” back to L1. A few of us stuck around until 7:43am when the Autumnal Equinox officially took place. We got in the lake about 1 minute before and began the countdown to the new season at the 10 second mark. And just like that, it was autumn!
