When I arrived at L1 just around 6:50am, I was expecting a cold and turbulent lake. But the lake came in at 52.2F with just a small ripple from a slight breeze. Given the overcast skies and 49F air temp, I opted for my jammers, thermo rash guard, and neoprene cap. Even though I was quite cozy in-swim, I probably could have gone with just the cap and jammers. We’re still expecting the Fall Turnover in Lake Michigan any day now, but I’ll be the first to admit it’s very pleasant to get these in-swim temps this late in the year!
