Sunday morning gave us a 35F outside temperature and a 42F lake. However, we had a rather vigorous and sustained wind from the south that complicated our first swim of Spring. I went with a neoprene shorty and the associated neoprene peripherals – having now officially retired my fullsuit until next winter – and managed to get in just under 1/4 mile in the choppy swells. Post-swim was a real ordeal with the wind tormenting us as soon as we existed the water. But we all changed back into our civilian clothes pretty quickly and fled to the sanctuary of our respective heated cars.
