Swim Report – July 24, 2022 – Dodging the T-Storms

Very ugly looking skies greeted me at 5:35am, and I heard what I thought was thunder as soon as I arrived on site at L1. I waited a few minutes to see if it was just a passing event, but all of a sudden the skies around the Hancock lit up with lightning (ugh!). So I sat down and waited…

45 minutes later, I grabbed my goggles and jumped in the lake. The water was 75.6F in swim – almost the same as the air – and it had a very slight swell that was easy to swim in. I ended up doing just under 1/2 mile total. But I stopped several times just to enjoy the warmer water and the pleasure of having the entire lake to myself!

Stormy weather
Festively decorated L1
