Swim Report – November 20, 2011 – Balmy waters

Dave and Nick made it out to L1 Sunday morning for a cold dip in the lake. The water temperature came in at 46F. The air was a bit crisp at 39F, and the slight breeze and overcast skies gave a slight edge to the cold. But we’re still in the 40F+ range!

Below is a compilation of Dave’s videos. Nick made another showing himself shaking like a leaf, but I’m still trying on getting the sound to work on that clip. So here’s a taste of what you missed out on:

  1. holy cats it felt like the coldest swim of the year so far.the temp and strong north east winds made it feel a lot colder. the waves and chop kept building from 3 footers plus out of ladder #1 so we swam a few laps to the 1/8th mile marker and to the north of ladder #1 to stay in the “calmer water” ha ha ha…
    be sure to let us know if you plan to swim on thanksgiving day …
    we may swim our new favorite are at montrose instead of ladder #1.
