Swim Report – February 16, 2025 – Biting Wind

The lake temp came in at 35F – a slight bump from the prior weeks. I had to spend some time deicing L1 and the rungs going down into the lake, but once I was able to get in I was surprised by the clarity of the lake. It looks like it’s starting to shed its murky winter layer which could be a possible harbinger of some early stirrings of Spring (fingers crossed!). The L1 area was clear due to a brisk and sustained wind from the west. While this made swimming a breeze (pun intended), it was absolutely savage post-swim. So I dispensed with the usual post-swim routine, preferring to just grab all my stuff and sprint to my car where changing out of my wet gear was a much more pleasant experience!
