Dave and I got in a quick 1/2 mile out at Ladder #1 this afternoon. The ice from Saturday had moved out, and the swim area was sunny and clear. Despite not having been in the lake regularly since November, I am happy to report that I haven’t lost much of my swim endurance.
I don’t have any photos of our swim for you, but I did get this shot of a Cooper’s Hawk that had just felled a pigeon right off of the Lake Shore Drive exit at North Avenue. Pretty intense!
I FOUND THE REASON FOR THE VERY COLD ELBOW… MY SUIT SPANG A LEAK FROM A ONE INCH LONG HOLE ON A SEAM… BOO HOO
AFTER CALLING EVERY DIVE SHOP IN CHICAGO TO LEARN THEY SEND REPAIRS BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER… I NEXT SEARCHED THE WEB SITES TO LEARN IT WOULD COST $20- $35 DOLLARS FOR SHIPPING COSTS AND $15 – $50 TO REPAIR IT DEPENDING ON WHO I PICKED TO REPAIR IT. OR $215.00 FOR A NEW ONE…
SO I BOUGHT A $11 DOLLAR TUBE OF AQUA SEAL FROM THE DIVE SHOP AND WORKED ON IT.
I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF IT WORKED…..
THE 2010 VALENTINES DAY SWIM WAS GREAT…
THE SUN WAS WONDERFUL AND THE WATER WAS FLAT AS A MIRROR. I MUST SAY IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY JUST TO BE OUTSIDE AND ENJOY THE SUN.
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
