Chris, I, and new Lake Monster Melissa made the early morning trek out to Ladder #1. And despite 15-20mph gusts of wind on the bike path, the swim area was quite calm. The official water temperature came in at 52F, so I was able to go without gloves or the swim hood for the first time this year. We’ll be out again tomorrow!

I impressed my dad with the early morning swim, and he’s thinking of joining me next time–he’s a diver and already has a wetsuit. I’ll be out of town next weekend, but I look forward to meeting more Lake Monsters in June!

Steve, when I met you at the Social Mixer (Apr. 30), I remember you tellin’ me about your swimming in Lake Michigan. I thought you were crazy then – but now I KNOW it! 😀
I get the shivers just thinkin’ about jumping into 52 degree water!

52F is nothing! We were in the lake in January when it was 33F and ice was forming on our gloves as we were swimming! Needless to say, we are quite looking forward to the summer 🙂

Yep…she got in the drink and is planning on becoming a regular. She won’t be out tomorrow. I’m planning on coming out Sunday, but probably not until 6:30am.
