What a great website!!! The only improvement I would make is to have a ‘print’ button to consolidate the schedule so it doesnt print on so many pages. Thanks for having this!
Here’s another one – I will probably be doing the 2.4 Championship Race – details can be found on USMS website http://www.usms.org/longdist/ldnats08/

Yikes! Another great event taking place when I’m out of town!
Have you ever thought of trying the Maui Channel Relay? http://www.mauichannel.org/
I think it is August 30. My cousin did it one year and said it was grueling.
Sarah
Wow…this looks pretty tough. I may have to work up to this one over the course of several seasons!

Bangs Lake Summer Splash
Sun, Jul 19, 2009 – Wauconda, IL
Their website is not showing any information yet, but I just found this.
Bangs Lake Summer Splash is an open water swim event at Bangs Lake in Wauconda. There will be two distances offered that will accommodate both the novice and experienced swimmer.
This is a great precursor to the Wauconda Triathlon that will occur one week later at the same location.
Hey, this one looks pretty cool! Since it’s local, I might sign up for it. Thanks!
The Bangs Lake race is not happening this year. The organizers recognize the demand for open water swim races, but they were having trouble scheduling it this year.
where is ladder #1?
7th Annual Lake Monona Open Water Swim
Sponsored by Madison Area Masters – Wisconsin Masters Aquatic Club
1.2 Mile and 2.4 Mile Open Water Races
Saturday, August 22, 2009
Law Park, Madison, Wisconsin
https://www.clubassistant.com/club/meet_information.cfm?c=1259&smid=1674
i’m surprised you didn’t include the one right near you in Chicago- the Big Shoulders 5k swim classic.
http://www.bigshoulders.org/
It’s already happened this year, and as I’m under 18 I was not able to compete- but I’ll be there next year.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I’ve had Big Shoulders on the site for the last two years. As the events take place, I remove them from the schedule.
BTW, there’s nothing preventing you from coming out to our swim site if you want to train in open water. So where have you been these past several months?!?
Right! Sorry, that was silly of me not to notice that none were listed before today’s date!
I live across the state in Moline, Illinois- as such, it’s not really practical for me to drive three hours to swim on weekend mornings.. I assure you if I make a weekend trip up I will make every effort to make a guest appearance at the ladder! But, for now I’m stuck in a pool.. =(
correction:
may 29 is not the manhattan marathon.
its on june 12
Correction: Pennock Island Challenge, 8.2 miles, is August 15, 2010, not August 22.
Done! FYI, we are now offering premium event marketing services such as highlighted/hyperlink options as well as banner ad placements that will get your event MUCH more exposure on the site. If you are interested, send me a quick note at srhernan@gmail.com.
I believe the Big Shoulders Chicago on Sept 11 is 1.5 Mile, 3 Mile, not 1.5K, 3K as currently listed.
