hot fun in the spring time at ladder #1 I called Steve and he stole Anne's car and made it in less then 20 minutes ! The water was nearly crystal clear so I dove the wall in search of sunken treasure... only one dime and a few beer bottle and cans- - - boo hoo....
Stever was able to pull off a double front flip off the mini trampoline !
the water was near mirror flat and when the fog burned off around 8am the sun was great so i stayed until 2pm.

i find the best way to keep your face warm is to wear a mask because it covers a larger area of your face then a set of goggles and it helps me keep an eye on the ice bergs. if you buy a hood like my Henderson it has a smaller face opening which also reduces the amount of naked skin touching the water. i can only remember one or two times my face felt cold after a ladder of two even when it was below zero air temps.
i swam at ladder # 1/2 today (one is broken in 1/2) and the water was 47 to 48 1/2 along the whole wall ! the ole 3mm was almost to warm today, damn these 80 degree winter days !!!!! i was sweating swimming the mile.
get your buns out of bed to get your winter swim in before spring arrives

I CHECKED ALL OF THE WEATHER NEWS SERVICES AT 5:OO AM THIS MORNING
WHEN I HEARD THAT 50 TO 65 MPH NORTH EAST WINDS WERE BLOWIN ALL MORNING LONG I WAS SURE THE SWIM WOULD BE CALLED OFF ! I TRIED CALLING EVERYONE THAT PLANNED TO SHOW UP FOR THE SWIM THIS MORNING BUT ALL OF THE TELEPHONE LINES WERE DOWN . I DECIDED TO DRIVE TO THE SITE IN HOPES TO CONVINCE EVERYONE IT WAS WAY TO DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO GET WITHIN A MILE OF THE LAKE SHORE... NICK SHOWED UP WITH HIS WIFE AND THEIR NEW BABY BOY AND HE SAID HE COULDN'T CHANGE HIS SWIM PLANS OTHERWISE HIS FAMILY WOULD LAUGH AT HIM AND CALL HIM A LOOSER. MIKE PICKED UP STEVE AND I PLEADED WITH THEM NOT TO GO IN. THEY ALSO IGNORED MY PLEAS AND HEADED TO THE WATERS EDGE. I WAS REALLY WORRIED ABOUT ENGLISH CHANNEL MIKE THE MOST ! AS YOU KNOW HE WAS LUCKY TO CROSS THE ENGLISH CHANNEL IN LESS THEN 11 HRS AND 19 MINUTES ( WE ALL KNOW THE CHANNEL WAS 72 DEGREES,80 DEGREE SUN FILLED SKIS ,MIRROR FLAT AND HE RODE A JET SKI AND THE JET SKI RAN OUT OF GAS A 1/4 MILE FROM THE SHORE AND HE HAD TO SWIM IN TO FILL THE GAS CAN). SO I HAD TO SWIM WITH THEM TO INSURE THEY MADE IT OUT ALIVE ! LAKE MICHIGAN WAS VERY DANGEROUS THIS MORNING SO IT WAS A GOOD THINK THE REST OF YOU STAYED IN BED ....

The weather.man lied again. Instead of light west winds and mirror flat water. We got 15-30 mph north and north east winds and a wash machine of chop. We waited an hour to swim any it was worth my two round trip drive to swim at mikes private beach. The 38 degree water felt nice without our hoods on for a cool down after the swim and the sun cut throught which was also nice
