Evanston Lighthouse Beach was 54 yesterday morning. I waded out in my jammer and did a couple of laps before I couldn't feel my feet. Not good. Big headache. Lifeguard told me S/SW winds are pushing up cold lake water against the shore. Said breezes from the shore onto the lake warm it up.

Weird to go to the beach on a 88/90 degree day and see *nobody* in the lake (unless its e-coli).

Hi Jayme. I had a thicker latex swim cap that I got when I did the Golden Gate Bridge swim. The ones that you get at the events are the thin caps that really don't keep your head warm in water 55F or colder.

What type of swim cap? My head and ears were cold yesterday when I swam?

Thanks.
