Chris, I, and new Lake Monster Melissa made the early morning trek out to Ladder #1. And despite 15-20mph gusts of wind on the bike path, the swim area was quite calm. The official water temperature came in at 52F, so I was able to go without gloves or the swim hood for the first time this year. We’ll be out again tomorrow!

Chris and Carol made it out Sunday morning. Here’s the report and the pics:
Well folk’s today’s swim report is as follows, got e-mail from dave early a.m. saying he was not going to make the morning swim due to lack of sleep and sore throat. I arrived at about 7:00 a.m., carol was already there she got to watch the sunrise! The water temp was 50 degrees with a nice flat surface. We swam a 1/2 mile due to time constrictions on the pay to park that starts at 8:00 a.m. Got a call later in the day dave said he made the 3 mile swim down to ohio street beach and back. It took him over an hour due to his stopping to do wreck diving without his scuba gear. Turns out there’s a 10 speed off the wall near ohio street beach. WERE DOWN TO 19 DAY’S TILL THE BEACHES OFFICIALLY OPEN FOLKS!!!!!!

I made it out to Ladder #1 at about 5:50am – just in time to catch the sunrise. The lake was crystal clear and completely calm. The official water temperature came in at 53F, and we were able to do our out-and-back pretty quickly.
I’d write more, but the sun is out in full force, and it’s an amazing day. Tomorrow is supposed to be a carbon copy of today, so come on out!
